Mandatory life jackets: Never board a boat or ride without a securely fastened life jacket. Every commercial operator in Dapoli is legally required to provide one.
Seasonal availability: Watersports run from October to May only. All water activities are banned by maritime authorities during the monsoon (June to September) because of rough seas.
Cash is king: Mobile signal is patchy on the sand at Murud and Ladghar and UPI payments often fail — some operators don't take online payment at all. Carry enough cash.
Dapoli has many beaches, but commercial watersports are concentrated at three, to protect ecological zones like Anjarle and Kelshi.
Murud Beach: The epicentre — the largest fleet of speedboats, jet skis and family rides.
Ladghar Beach: Best known for parasailing thanks to wind corridors created by the neighbouring cliffs.

Unlike beach-launched parasailing, operators at Ladghar Beach mainly use heavy-duty winch boats.
The experience: You take off and land on the deck of a customised speedboat out at sea, avoiding hard beach landings.
Tip: For the best aerial photos, book a slot between 3:30 PM and 5:00 PM, when evening light hits Ladghar's cliffs.
Jet ski rides in Dapoli are tightly regulated — a certified operator rides pillion with you and can take over the throttle.
The experience: Cut across the rolling Arabian Sea waves at high speed. Murud Beach has a huge, open ride zone that's ideal for it.
The most popular choices for families and groups visiting the coast.
Banana ride: An inflatable yellow banana pulled at speed by a motorboat. On the final turn the pilot flips it, plunging everyone into the safe, shallow water.
Bumper ride: A round doughnut tube — sit low and hold on tight as it bounces over the boat's wake.
Not a high-speed sport, but a must-do marine adventure.
How it works: Traditional Konkan fishing boats with safety seating take groups of 6–10 people 1–2 km offshore.
Timing is critical: Boats launch between 6:45 AM and 8:30 AM. Dolphins are rarely seen later as the water warms and boat traffic increases.
Anjarle Ecotourism runs community-backed trails where the Jog River meets the sea — part of a conservation initiative that supports local communities and protects mangroves and marine life. Tours are led by trained guides.
Kayaking: Rent a kayak and paddle deep into dense mangrove channels.
Mangrove boat safaris: Guided local boats explore the estuary while explaining the fragile wetland ecosystem.
